There is a richness and a stillness at the edge of each day,
short moments that shift the hues of color.
These moments and a lifetime of farming inspire my work.
I create art using wool and silk fibers and fabric.
I love the tactile process, and the organic way that colors blend,
as the fibers move into fabric.
I find deep comfort and joy in knowing that there will always be another sunrise,
another opportunity to lay colors and fibers against one another and transform them into fabric.
The cycle continues: the days repeat themselves,
and I move in the same motions over and over at my workbench.
And yet, no transition from darkness to light is ever the same as any other.
The repetition of days is predictable,
while the reality of each moment is beyond comparison.
My creative process mirrors this paradox, the balance between repetition and singularity,
the surprise of the unexpected where I have looked a thousand times before.
The edges weave together reliably into the fabric of the world,
but the beauty of the image is different every time.
